Colorado Rockies fans haven't had much to cheer about for several years now. So they have to rely on small victories, often away from the field.
This was once again the case at Rockies Fest, an opportunity for fans to meet their favorite players and coaches, both current and former. And speaking of alumni, the Colorado team took the opportunity to make a big announcement: they will unveil statues for their two Baseball Hall of Fame inductees, Larry Walker and Todd Helton, at ceremonies during the 2026 season.
How cool is this!

The Walker statue will be unveiled on Sunday, August 23, while the Helton statue is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, both before the games at Coors Field. For each match, the first 15,000 people in attendance will receive a replica of the statue. Each is designed and created by sculptors George and Mark Lundeen of Lundeen Sculptures located in Longmont, Colorado.
This is a great honor for Walker, who played 10 of his 17 MLB seasons with the Rockies, joining the American franchise as a free agent after spending the first six years of his career with the Montreal Expos.
The Canadiens posted a .334 batting average with 258 home runs and 848 runs batted in during his time in Colorado. For his career, Walker posted a .313 batting average with 383 home runs and 1,311 runs batted in.
With the Rockies, he was voted National League Most Valuable Player and went to the All-Star Game four times, winning two Silver Bats and six Gold Gloves. He also won three National League batting titles.
Walker was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020, in his final year of eligibility on the ballot.
