This morning, the Canadiens practiced in Brossard.

Practice was intense, and we could see that Martin St-Louis wasn't necessarily happy with his players' effort. He had to stop play shortly after the start of practice to send a message to his boys.

It was necessary with the two recent consecutive defeats.

After practice, the club held a team meeting to discuss what's been going wrong lately.

And what stood out most of all—Zachary Bolduc and Phillip Danault both spoke about it—was that the players need to “execute the rules” that are in place. That was the message sent to the group this morning.

To achieve this, Zachary Bolduc mentioned that the team needs to stop taking chances late in the game when they're ahead. The club needs to be better prepared for the end of games, because that's when everything can change.

But that's part of the learning curve for a young team like the Canadiens. Remember: the Canadiens are the youngest club in the entire National League, and there's no doubt that they'll have to work hard to mature as a group.

Because we know that the Canadiens have a good club. We know it has the tools to succeed, because Martin St-Louis has some quality players in his lineup. However, we have to pay attention to the little details, and that's why we held a team meeting this morning to get everyone back on track.

I don't hate it. The Habs have lost four of their last six games, and without saying that we need to panic, it sometimes helps to talk to each other in the whites of our eyes so that we can move forward in the right way.

It remains to be seen whether there will be any positive results from this experience.

– Interesting news!

– Logical.

– Oh.

– It's a nice touch.
