Nine games were on the schedule yesterday for another Saturday of hockey in the National Hockey League.

There were plenty of goals and highlights.

Here's a rundown.

1. Incredible night for Evan Bouchard

The Edmonton Oilers won 6-5 in overtime last night against the Washington Capitals in a crazy game.

Of course, Connor McDavid had fun in the game, with five points, but he wasn't the most talked-about player, despite the winning goal in overtime.

Instead, it was Evan Bouchard who shone even more brightly, as he picked up six points on six goals, including a fine hat trick.

An unforgettable evening for Bouchard, who also became only the second defenseman in history after Bobby Orr to record six points and eight shots in a game.

And to think Team Canada didn't even select him for the Olympics.

2. Superb pass from Brandon Hagel

The Tampa Bay Lightning finally lost a regular-season game for the first time in 16 games, as they fell 8-5 to the Columbus Blues Jackets.

Despite this, the Lightning still managed to find themselves in the evening's highlights, thanks to Brandon Hagel, who made a superb pass to Nikita Kucherov.

Even falling on his stomach, Hagel managed to reach Kucherov, who didn't need much to complete.

3. Jet Greaves blunder

In the same game, the Blue Jackets' goalie made a blunder in front of his net, when he fumbled and sent the puck directly onto his teammate's skate.

Greaves tried to pass the puck back to his teammate, but it hit Isac Lundestrom's skate and bounced into his own net.

In the end, it was all for naught, as the Blue Jackets came out on top.

4. Another win for the Red Wings and Sabres

While the Canadiens are losing vital divisional games, the other Atlantic teams continue to win.

Yesterday, the Detroit Red Wings beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-1, and the Buffalo Sabres humiliated the New York Islanders 5-0.

Both teams solidify their place in the division's top-3, while the Habs start to lag behind and get really hot under the collar.

5. Brandon Bussi continues to dominate

One of the revelations in front of the net this season is clearly Brandon Bussi, the Carolina Hurricanes' goaltender who came in to compensate for Pyotr Kochetkov's injury, and who is dominating this season.

Last night, Bussi turned aside 35 of 36 shots for the Ottawa Senators, helping his team to a 4-1 victory.

It was Bussi's 19th win in 23 games.

It's impressive, and one of the main reasons behind the Carolina Hurricanes' excellent season.
