Artemi Panarin continues to be one of the best players in the National League.
He celebrated his 34th birthday last October, but that's okay: the Russian still has 56 points – including 19 goals – in just 50 games so far this season.
Despite the fact that he's getting on in years, Panarin is still one of the NHL's elite. And that's why so many teams will be interested in him in the coming weeks.
It's worth remembering, after all: the Rangers are about to embark on a rebuild, and they've told Panarin they're going to trade him.
They want to make another call in the Big Apple, and they want to give the player a chance to win the Stanley Cup. Might as well trade him before this summer – when Panarin's contract is up – to maximize his value, right?
There's one club to keep an eye on in the Panarin file, by the way.
Elliotte Friedman talked about it on a recent episode of his podcast: Panarin is said to have told the Rangers that he could facilitate a deal to send him to Florida.
According to Friedman, Panarin is interested in joining his good friend Sergei Bobrovsky with the Panthers:
The forward reportedly told Chris Drury that he would facilitate a transaction allowing him to join a particular team

Artemi Panarin in Florida, that would be… something.
The Panthers already have a big forward, after all. And adding a player who scores 90 to 100 points per season to that group could scare off a number of National League clubs.
The problem?
To get Panarin, the Panthers would need to perform a magic trick. The club's payroll is in the toilet, and team captain Aleksander Barkov is on the long-term injury list.
We'll have to make room for him on the payroll when he's ready to return to action, to put it another way. And acquiring Artemi Panarin would complicate things a bit…
