As you may know, things are really bad in Ottawa.
When Jake Sanderson threw his goalie under the bus, it was clear just how bad things were for the Sens. After all, with good leadership, statements like that don't happen.
Lane Hutson would never have done that to a guy holding down the fort like Leevi Meriläinen.
One of the reasons the goalie got away with it in Ottawa last Saturday was that regular Linus Ullmark had been out for a while. He was out of the team entourage for personal reasons.
You'll recall that rumors circulated following his departure. These rumors, denied by the organization, were that Ullmark had cheated on his wife and thrown some of his teammates under the bus to defend himself.
And now the goaltender, whose return to action appears to be nearing, has addressed the rumors in an interview with TSN. An excerpt was posted on social networks.
Basically, he says these rumors explain why guys keep their private lives to themselves.
Sens G Linus Ullmark sat down with TSN's Claire Hanna and discussed his leave of absence from the team. The full interview will be posted to TSN's YouTube channel and https://t.co/XalW2j4LtU later today. pic.twitter.com/hG45Jk1bno

At first, Ullmark wasn't aware of what was happening on the web. It took a while before people close to him asked him how things were going in his relationship.
Then he knew something was up.
Listening to the tone of the interview (in the excerpt published on X, at least), you can really sense that what happened bothered Ullmark. It's not just something that exists without much thought: it's clearly affected the hockey player.
And what's more, it happened at a time when something (we don't know what, but he didn't go away, basically, for nothing) was going on in his life.
