It's official.
The Hall of Fame will be welcoming two new members in the coming months. Carlos Beltran and Andruw Jones, two center fielders, have been elected to Cooperstown.
It's crazy to think that since 1981, only two other center fielders (Ken Griffey Jr. and Kirby Puckett) had been elected. And now, in one evening, no less than two other players from the #8 position have been added.
So much the better.
We have two new Hall of Famers.
Carlos Beltran and Andruw Jones have been elected by the BBWAA.
We'd had 2 center fielders elected in the previous 45 years … and now 2 in one night!

Jones played for years in Atlanta, but also represented the Dodgers, Rangers, White Sox, and Yankees. He struck out 1,933 times in his career, mostly at a difficult defensive position. His 10 Gold Gloves speak volumes about his defensive game.
Beltran placed the ball in the safe position 2,725 times for the Royals, Astros, Mets, Giants, Cardinals, Yankees, and Rangers.
Beltran was read despite his involvement in the Astros' signal theft case in 2017. He couldn't manage the Mets because of that, but he can make his Hall induction, so?
What do you think of this?
Carlos Beltran getting into the HOF is a good sign for Jose Altuve and anyone connected to the 2017 Astros
