Kirby Dach hasn't played since November 15.
That night, he blocked two shots against the Bruins at the Bell Centre. The result? Dach broke his ankle and hasn't been able to return to action since.
But it's been a while since he received the green light from the doctors to make his comeback.
Renaud Lavoie talked about it on BPM Sports: Dach got the green light in the last few weeks to return to the game, but…
But Dach wasn't feeling 100% at the time. He didn't want to rush things because he knows his injury history and it also fits in with the Canadiens' plan to take their time with #77.
Dach, who is in the final year of his contract, has to prove himself between now and the end of the season if he wants another chance in Montreal. And he wanted to be at the top of his game to give himself the best possible chance of fulfilling this “challenge”:
Will Kirby be in uniform tomorrow night at the Bell Centre against the Wild?
We don't know officially… but we do know that there's a good chance he'll play. And we also know that he should play on the first line if Alexandre Texier can't play.
Kirby looked good at today's practice. He pulled out his Sunday hands to decapitate Jakub Dobes:
Kirby Dach didn't lose his touch during his absence.

Kirby Dach will have some big shoes to fill in his return to the game.
And that's why, in my eyes, he wanted to take the time to get ready before coming back. He knows he has to give it his all when he comes back, and that can be done by being fully fit.
The talent is there, after all. But he has to be healthy to play… and therein lies the biggest problem since his arrival in Montreal.
Overtime
