Things got pretty chippy in tonight's game between the Sharks and Panthers, to the point where goaltenders Sergei Bobrovsky and Alex Nedeljkovic came to blows.

After a scrum near Nedeljkovic's net, following a hit from behind by Evan Rodrigues on Vincent Desharnais, Bobrovsky crossed the rink to engage the Sharks goalie.

The goalkeepers traded a few blows, but there wasn't really a winner as both lost their balance after a few seconds.

Players from both teams seemed to enjoy the spectacle, a first in almost six years, when Cam Talbot and Mike Smith battled it out in a match between the Alberta rivals on February 1, 2020.

Bobrovsky undoubtedly wanted to wake up his club, which was trailing 3-1 at the time, after seeing the Sharks score the game's first three goals in the second period.

However, it didn't have the desired effect, as San Jose went on to win the game 4-1.

The game also marked the return to action of Matthew Tkachuk, playing his first game of the season. The American was welcomed back by Desharnais in the first period with a solid check.

The Sharks defenseman also scored his first goal of the season and finished the night at +2.

Michael Misa also did well for San Jose with a two-assist night.

In short, while a battle between two goalkeepers is always memorable, it's a game Florida will want to forget in a hurry.
