The Rocket lost yesterday's game at Place Bell.

The Manitoba Moose were visiting for the occasion… and the game ended 3-0.

But that's not what we'll remember about today's game. A Rocket fan died during yesterday's game: those on hand thought he had fallen asleep during the second period before realizing he wasn't breathing.

In an article in La Presse, we read that the victim's daughter posted a message on her Facebook account. It goes like this:

My father left gently, he fell asleep at his favorite team's game. – Sophie Pelletier

This is so sad.

Yves Brenda Pelletier, who is the victim's brother, also wrote a note to say that the deceased man was a great Rocket fan and that the club “gave him a lot of pleasure in the last few years.”

That's touching, too.

The Rocket, for its part, also issued a statement on social networks to address the situation.

The club would like to offer its most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Michel Pelletier. And on behalf of the entire DLC team, I share the same thoughts:

Obviously, these are truly deplorable situations.

No one wants to see these things happen and that's normal. Again, I send positive vibes to Michel Pelletier's family and loved ones because it must be a really difficult time right now.

Overtime

– He's on fire.

– Of note.

– It's going to stir.

– Well done.
