Tage Thompson took care of the Habs last night in a 5-3 Sabres win.

Nine other games were on the schedule.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. Auston Matthews doesn't give a damn about former teammate Mitch Marner

For the first time this season, the Leafs faced the Golden Knights. Auston Matthews versus Mitch Marner.

During warm-up, Marner tossed a puck in the direction of the Toronto captain.

Unlike Marner, who picked up an assist, Matthews doesn't seem to give a damn about his former teammate.

He made that clear in an interview.

But it was the former Leaf who had the last word. Despite being booed at home (there were a lot of Leaf fans), Vegas won in overtime thanks to Jack Eichel's superb goal.

Tomas Hertl tied the game with seven seconds remaining.

William Nylander left the game and never returned.

Heavy loss.

2. Connor McDavid's point streak ends at 20

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

Connor McDavid's streak of games with at least one point ended at 20 yesterday. The captain was unable to collect a point in a 1-0 loss to the Islanders.

Ilya Sorokin was perfect, blocking 35 shots.

By the end of the game, McDavid's streak was almost up to 21.

But, Leon Draisaitl hit the post hard.

The only goal of the game was scored by Québécois Anthony Duclair.

What a pass from Calum Ritchie on net.

3. Two goals in 10 seconds for the Jets

It's not going well for the Jets this season, but yesterday they found a way to win against the Wild, a solid club.

Things haven't been going well in Minnesota lately…

In the win, Winnipeg finished the first period well, scoring two goals in 10 seconds.

With the injury to Brayden Point, a forward position may have opened up with Team Canada.

Mark Scheifele wants it.

Jonathan Toews also scored. He has found the back of the net in his last four games.

He even reached the 900-point plateau for his career.

4. All Penguins forwards collect a point

The Penguins won the Battle of Pennsylvania last night, 6-3.

Most impressive of all, every Penguins forward collected a point. Crazy, considering the team “only scored six goals.”

Sidney Crosby scored two points, including a goal. His 25th goal of the season.

Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Thomas Novak were the only players with more than one point in the win.

Things aren't going well for the Flyers, who have lost their last five games. They haven't been in a playoff position for some time now.

5. First goal since November 28 for Brock Boeser

The Canucks lost again last night. Final score: 4-1 to the Blue Jackets.

A trip to forget for Vancouver, who are on a nine-game losing streak.

In defeat, Brock Boeser scored.

His first goal since November 28. It's been a long time.

This sequence from goalie Kevin Lankinen sums up his team's season, anyway.

On the winning side, Zach Werenski also found the back of the net.

It was his 18th goal of the season, in only his 43rd game.
