There were only four games in the NHL last night.
But that's okay: there was still plenty of action.
Let's take a look at what caught our eye:
Wednesday saw this season's 16th game featuring a team scoring 8+ goals. Only two campaigns in the past 30 years have had more at this stage (738 GP): 1995-96 (22) & 2005-06 (19).#NHLStats: https://t.co/Lup3vl0hCM pic.twitter.com/MTypCTPSHN

1: It's all going cr*ss in New York
Brady Tkachuk is one of the biggest pests in the National League.
And the worst part… we're talking about a mean good hockey player. He proved it last night against the Rangers, scoring his 200th career goal:

Tkachuk, who recently said he didn't want to fight anymore for a while… seems to have changed his mind.
The Sens captain, in fact, was at the center of a scrum at center ice last night after receiving a stick to the face. Sarcé Brady!
The man was not happy…

The Senators crushed the Rangers 8-4 (!) and Tkachuk finished the game with four points (one goal and three assists).
He was an accomplice on his team's final goal to round off his night's work in the best possible way.

The Rangers got stepped on again… and that's all it took for the fans to show their anger.
For the second game in a row, fans shouted “fire Drury!” during the game to show their displeasure. Things aren't going well in New York…
And it's starting to get heavy:

2: Rasmus Dahlin takes care of the Flyers
Ramus Dahlin is established as one of the best defensemen in the National League.
And you can see why when he scores goals like this:

The Sabres captain had some fun against the Flyers. He scored twice on the powerplay and helped his club to a 5-2 win.
Another win for the Sabres. In Buffalo, the Sabres have won 15 of their last 16 games… and are really sending a message to the rest of the National League.
The Sabres aren't here to fool around right now. And frankly, we're going to have to start taking them seriously before too long.
What they're doing right now is impressive…
3: Jack Eichel… Excuse me?!
When Jack Eichel is in form, the Golden Knights have a better chance of winning.
It makes sense, we agree: when the best players play like the best players, it always helps. And that's what happened last night:

Eichel was an accomplice on his team's first two goals in the game against the Kings… but it was especially in overtime that he put on a show.
The Knights' star player gave his club the victory by creating a simply perfect play to allow Mark Stone to score in an abandoned net.
The American, with his third assist of the game, helped the Knights win 3-2 in Los Angeles. Great Jack Eichel:

4: Nico Hischier… WOW!
Clearly, it was “captain's night” last night in the NHL. Hehe.
Brady Tkachuk, Rasmus Dahlin… but in New Jersey, it was Nico Hischier who stole the show:

Overtime was needed in the game to determine a winner between the Devils and the Kraken… and guess what?
Yep…
It was Nico Hischier who put an end to the debate. And let's just say he did it in spectacular fashion: the Devils' captain COMPLETELY undercut Philipp Grubauer to score a beautiful goal.
