The Sick Podcast is much more than Tony Marinaro; it's 21 podcasts in all. And it's about to be 22, as a brand new podcast from Toronto is about to be launched.

Today, Pierre McGuire and Jimmy Murphy received a (virtual) visit from Dan Milstein at Sick Podcast – The Eye Test.

Naturally, the two chatted about Milstein client Alexandre Texier's new contract, but they also took the opportunity to discuss Ivan Demidov, also a Milstein client.

No, Milstein didn't confirm that Demidov would be signing at a discount next summer, as Eric Engels suggested only yesterday – and no, he didn't discuss the strategy of signing a new sponsor every week for Demidov either – but he did throw out something interesting.

According to Milstein, his client intends to spend the coming summer in Montreal. And again!

Demidov signed with the Habs in April 2025 and hasn't been back to Russia since. At least, that's what we're seeing and hearing. And he's apparently still planning to spend the summer in Montreal, to stay in shape and soak up the Québécois culture.

We know that a good number of the Habs players spent almost their entire summer in Montreal in 2025, starting collective practices several weeks before the opening of training camp. This clearly helped the group get off to a great start this season, cementing the bonds that bind – both on and off the ice – the guys together.

Juraj Slafkovsky will be happy to hear that his driver has no plans to leave Montreal next summer. He'll have lifts to get to the CN Complex.

It will be interesting to see if Demidov signs his contract extension before the season starts, to avoid a distraction at Lane Hutson last October.

And of course, we're all curious to know how much Demidov will be paid annually.

If Demidov comes to an agreement with the Habs before September 16, he can sign an eight-year contract. If not, it'll have to be seven or less.

How much is it worth to sign the NHL's top rookie scorer for eight seasons?
