The Montreal Canadiens will be bolstered by the return of injured forwards. We know that.

But more and more, we're also wondering just how aggressive Kent Hughes will be in looking for reinforcements – possibly on the wing, under the circumstances.

The hockey world changes fast, as colleague Maxime Truman likes to say.

The Flames' name is often linked to the Canadiens. Considering the fact that the Flames are one of the few teams that are actually lining up to sell, it makes sense.

We know that Blake Coleman is a hot name in Montreal. But let's not forget Nazem Kadri.

The Flames may be willing to withhold salary to facilitate a potential deal, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Habs will go after him.

As Darren Dreger said on the Barn Burner podcast, Kent Hughes probably doesn't see this idea as the most logical one for his organization's future.

The reason is simple: the Canadiens have Michael Hage on their organizational chart. And in reality, the GM doesn't want to completely block his path to a second-center position.

The club wants him to have his chance to fight for the position that currently belongs to Oliver Kapanen.

Remember that recently, Darren Dreger also said that if the Canadiens were to trade Michael Hage, who opened many eyes at the World Junior Championship, it would be about right for a guy like Sidney Crosby.

We'll see what awaits the young man in the coming months.
