Alexandre Texier is having a dream week.
He scored four goals in the space of two games (and added two assists) and finished his week with six points in just three games.
His hat trick was the talk of the town, because it made for a great moment at the Bell Centre. And I remember saying this after watching him score his fourth goal (and sixth point) in the space of just over 24 hours: “He's just earned himself a place in this week's stars!
But…
But Texier is not one of the NHL's three stars of the week. And the reason is simple: Tomas Hertl (nine points in four games), John Gibson (three wins, including a shutout) and David Pastrnak (nine points in four games) were more productive than the Frenchman.
Tomas Hertl, John Gibson, and David Pastrnak have been named the NHL's “Three Stars” for the week ending Jan. 11.

It sure would have been nice to see him make the list. He had the best week of his NHL career and could have earned his place in the sun with his performances.
But we all agree that it's far from the end of the world, and I'm inclined to believe that he's not worrying too much about it.
These moments will stay with him, after all, and the fact that he was passed over for NHL All-Star of the Week doesn't change what happened last week.
Maybe he could have been named star of the week if he'd had another big performance against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. But he was blanked from the scoresheet, and he didn't have the best game in the world either.
Anyway.
Better luck next time, Tex!

Debbie, a PWHL superfan, created this from scratch to wear to a game. Unreal.

The Habs will face a Vancouver Canucks team that is:
– In last place in the NHL
– Coming off a shutout in their previous game
– Playing a young, undrafted 6'6 Belarussiangoalie named Nikita Tolopilo, who's only had six career starts

– Impressive.
Michael Hage's season so far…
NCAA: 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 22 games
WJC: 2 goals and 13 assists for 15 points in 7 games
I can't wait to see him play 1 or 2 games in April with the #Habs! Can't you?
