The Canadiens are enjoying quite a run.

Part of that success is due to the support players, who have been doing their job lately. There hasn't been a passenger in the club for two weeks, and it's showing in the results on the ice.

It's not for nothing, after all, that the Habs have won six of their last eight games. And they've done so by beating big clubs like the Panthers (twice), Hurricanes, and Stars.

As a result, the Canadiens now rank 6th among the NHL's top teams, according to The Athletic. On December 19, when The Athletic last published its power rankings, the Habs were 13th on the list.

It's amazing how a few weeks can change everything in the big league:

Fun fact: the Buffalo Sabres, who have been dominating for the past 15 games, are ranked 10th in the rankings above.

Never thought I'd see that in my life. Hehe.

All kidding aside, coming back to the Canadiens, it's clear that the Montreal club is making a name for itself. The Habs are showing that they can compete with the best teams in the National League, and it's obviously not going unnoticed.

You could even say that the Habs are becoming an NHL powerhouse… and that's special too!

Juraj Slafkovsky's excellent performance also correlates directly with the Canadiens' recent success on the ice. He single-handedly dominates games and is capable of taking control of a match, which makes a difference.

He and Lane Hutson are the Canadiens' two best players right now… and there's no doubt about it.

When everything works out the way it has lately with the Canadiens, it's fun. It's really fun.

And it's especially so for the club's fans, who've had to wait a long time to see their glorious team win games on a regular basis, as we've been seeing lately.

So much the better. And Kent Hughes is right when he says that the Habs may be ahead of schedule in their rebuilding

Overtime

– It's on.

– Oh.

– Of note.

– Bedsy is back.

– Well done.
