The construction of the amphitheater to be used for the Olympic Games is the talk of the town.
And not for the best of reasons.
The work seems to be behind schedule when you look at the images of the dressing rooms and the ice. But there was a “preparatory” game today at the Santagiuliana arena to test the facilities… and it turned into a real catastrophe.
Basically, the game had to be stopped in the first period because there was a huge hole in the ice in one of the attacking zones. I'd like to tell you it's a joke… but it's not.
And no, it's not April Fools' Day either. Ayoye…

According to Chris Johnston, arena employees had to bring a watering can to repair the surface. Yikes.
We agree on one thing (at least, I hope we do): this whole thing is really starting to get pretty ridiculous. It looks like the organizations haven't taken the project seriously, and right now, with the Olympics only a few weeks away, it's only natural to be worried.
In any case, personally… I wouldn't find it funny if I were an NHL player who was going to take part in the competition. And I also find it hard to believe that National League executives are so happy to see how things are going in Milan.
Now we really have to start asking questions.
We know that the Olympic Committee doesn't have a plan B and that the competition has to take place at the amphitheater, which isn't finished yet. But time is running out… and what happened today is far from reassuring.

– There are some big injuries in Philly.
Per a team source:
*Bobby Brink and Jamie Drysdale are likely to miss the next few games. One potential return date for Brink is Wednesday at Buffalo on Jan. 14; Drysdale could be out longer.
*Travis Konecny's injury isn't serious, but expect him to be a game-time decision.
