Last night, Samuel Montembeault played a big game.

Did he let in a bad goal during the game? Yes, but otherwise he was solid and found a way to get another win for his team.

In fact, he won a game at home for the first time in two months, since November 8 against the Mammoth. And the crowd let him know they'd be supporting him for the rest of the game.

The goaltender, who notched his third straight win since returning to the NHL, took full advantage of his break to refuel. In particular, he had the help of his family.

But he also received a nice message from one of the organization's greats to keep his head on straight.

Carey Price (who has played very little with Monty) took the time earlier this season when things were going badly for the Québécois to text him and tell him to keep up his body language to regain his confidence.

Montembeault said as much after his game yesterday.

Let's not forget that Carey Price, whose rights belong to the Sharks until this summer, had also taken the time to support Jacob Fowler, who is taking his first steps in the pros, in recent months.

He's a class act, Carey. And he still has the Habs at heart, obviously.

It's also worth noting that, in addition to Price, there's one name that shouldn't be underestimated in Montembeault's comeback. We're talking about Marco Marciano, who practiced with the Québécois on a number of occasions on the heels of his stint in Laval.

Since Monty's practices with the Rocket's goaltending coach, we've noticed that he's more confident (he knows how to recover from his blunders) and well positioned in front of the net.

The way I see it, the next guy who's going to need a supportive text from Price is Jakub Dobes. The young goalie is clearly the club's #3 right now… and he's only played one game since the holidays.

A move to Laval seems increasingly inevitable.
