What do we know about Kirby Dach's return to fitness?

We know that the guy was supposed to be back around Christmas, that he hasn't been skating much lately (as far as we know, anyway), that the GM seems publicly confused about his timetable, that the guy wears a therapeutic boot on his right foot to walk…

And now we know that the forward has indeed started skating again. Renaud Lavoie filmed him in action this morning at the Bell Centre.

If he wears a boot off the ice and skates the next day, it's probably because the boot is there more as a precaution than anything else. Reminder: the Habs want to bring him back when he's at 100% only.

But it's still weird.

Obviously, Dach isn't at the stage of practicing with the others yet. But seeing him skate (for 20 minutes or so) makes us wonder a little less than we did yesterday.

But we'll see when he can start playing again.

Note that Dach isn't the only injured forward spotted by Renaud Lavoie. Jake Evans also jumped on the Bell Centre rink this morning to skate for ten minutes or so.

He's obviously making progress too.

Remember that Evans, according to his basic prognosis, must miss four to six weeks. In ten days or so, it will be four weeks since his injury against the Penguins.

Will he be back by then?
