Tonight, the Devils travel to Long Island to take on the New York Islanders. The club is trying to get back on track after losing to the Hurricanes in their last game.

But things didn't go exactly to plan: the Devils allowed five unanswered goals in the first two periods of the game. And it obviously didn't go down well with their fans.

Even though the club was on the road, one fan expressed his displeasure by throwing a Devils jersey onto the ice. What's interesting is that this particular jersey is a P.K. Subban jersey.

And as luck would have it, it happened during a game where Subban was actually on hand: he was in an analyst role for that game with ESPN.

It made for great TV.

Returning from a commercial break, a replay of the jersey was shown… and a freeze frame identified the jersey as #76's. And Subban was the only player in Devils history to wear that number.

The former defenseman, visibly surprised, burst out laughing when he realized it was his jersey. And he also joked that the fan should have kept it, since Subban would have been happy to sign it.

We agree that this is a rather unusual situation, hehe.

Remember also that a few days ago, Devils fans booed Luke Hughes (one of their own) after he scored two own goals in the same game.

No, things haven't been going well for Devils fans lately, hehe.

In Overtime

– According to Chris Johnston, the Maple Leafs prevented themselves from completing a trade last June for a chance to sign Brad Marchand. It obviously didn't work out, as we now know.

– We wish him the best.

– Interesting.
