1. Luke Hughes: an own goal and an assist

Player of the game in the Hurricanes' 3-1 win over the Devils: Luke Hughes.

No, he wasn't traded to the Hurricanes early in the game, but that's pretty much it. He scored a goal and an own goal.

Here's his goal:

And his pass:

Tough match for him, I don't need to say.

In the win Taylor Hall scored a goal and an assist, too, but real points, unlike the Devils' defenseman.

2. Panthers end Avalanche 10-game winning streak

When the Sabres had their 10-game winning streak, everyone talked about it.

But nobody seems to talk about it when it's the Avalanche. In any case, their streak was halted at 10 by the Panthers, who won 2-1.

Sam Bennett got things started for Florida.

And late in the second period, Aaron Ekblad scored the winning goal.

In defeat, Gabriel Landeskog went down fighting.

He didn't finish the game and his coach admitted afterwards that his captain would miss some time.

Ouch.

3. Tyler Bertuzzi scores all three Blackhawks goals

In Chicago, it was the Tyler Bertuzzi show.

In a 3-2 overtime win over the Golden Knights, the forward scored all three goals.

Just before overtime, he had tied the score.

In addition to Bertuzzi, Andre Burakovsky also did well, collecting two assists.

As for Mark Stone, he scored in his fourth straight game in defeat.

4. Penguins erase three-goal deficit

In the afternoon, the Penguins and Blue Jackets faced off in Columbus.

The Jackets seemed headed for victory, scoring three goals in the first period.

But despite a 4-1 lead at one point in the game, Pittsburgh never gave up, scoring three unanswered goals to force overtime.

Rickard Rakell scored the equalizer with 12 seconds left in the game.

And in the fourth period, Sidney Crosby scored his 50th game-winning goal in overtime.

He becomes the first player in history to reach this plateau.

What a win for the Penguins!
