Canada lost its semi-final match last night to the Czech Republic.

The result?

As a result, Unifolié was in the bronze-medal match at the World Junior Championship today. The Finns were on the menu for Dale Hunter's men.

In the match, Michael Hage—who is having an exceptional tournament—STILL stood out. That's right!

The Canadiens' prospect finished the game with four assists (!) and proved to be Canada's best player of the game. Here are his first three assists of the game:

Canada took a 5-2 lead into the game, and it was clear that Finland was no match for them.

Heikki Reuhonen hit the target late in the second period to make it 5-3, but it was too little too late.

Hage picked up his fourth assist in the third period. He was an accomplice on a Gavin McKenna goal, and that goal (which made it 6-3) really did Canada good.

It was the final nail in the coffin for the Finns:

Canada won the match to claim the bronze medal.

And Michael Hage, finishing the game with four points… concluded his tournament with an impressive 15 points in just seven short games.

He should have been named one of Canada's top three players for the competition, but that was not to be. With one more assist, Hage could have become Canada's player with the most assists in a single WJC, tied with Connor Bedard:

Michael Hage was on fire throughout the tournament and his performance was as impressive as you could wish for.

So much the better, because we're talking about a Canadiens prospect who really has a lot of talent. I can't wait to see him make the jump to the pros…
