Here we are in 2026. It's going fast, too.

What this means is that the Olympic Games are just around the corner. In a little over a month, they'll be starting in Italy, and the eyes of the NHL will be on international hockey.

Yesterday, the Canadiens unveiled their roster, which includes Nick Suzuki.

Of course, Suzuki won't be the only Canadiens player going to the Olympics. But clearly, because he's a Canadiens and because he's the Habs' #1 center, he's the one we'll be talking about the most.

Last year, Suzuki didn't take part in the Four Nations Confrontation, which gave him a chance to rest. He was also crinched, which was good for Montreal.

Now, by going to the Olympics, the Habs have to hope that they'll take away so much positive from it that they'll be inspired for the playoff race that awaits them in the coming months.

And Kent Hughes is sure to tell him to talk to Sidney Crosby and sing the praises of the Bleu Blanc Rouge.

But, of course, we've also considered the fact that Suzuki won't be getting much rest. In fact, with a condensed schedule and a trip to Europe ahead of him, Suzuki will have to manage his fatigue over the next few months.

And let's just say, with the Habs' January schedule, Suzuki will be a busy guy. The duels in January (as well as the road games against the Wild and Jets in February, before the Games) won't be easy, let's face it.

Condensed schedule… managing injuries and his energies… Olympic Games… playoff race… potential playoffs… impending fatherhood: it's going to be a challenging time for Suzuki.

I think he'll be motivated by all that. But let's just say that he'll have to show discipline to be the best man/player in all these aspects in the coming months.
