Last night, Lane Hutson had his say in the Canadiens' victory.
Not only did he play over 22 minutes, but he also maintained a positive differential while picking up two assists in the Canadiens' 3-2 overtime win over the Panthers.
In short, as usual, he was good.
With his two assists yesterday, Hutson now has no fewer than 16 assists in the last 10 games (ironically, since Jacob Fowler was recalled).
He's been blanked just twice out of 10.

Overall this season, Lane Hutson has five goals and no fewer than 33 assists, for a total of 38 points. This necessarily places him among the NHL's elite among defensemen.
In fact, only five celery-legged forwards have more assists than him this season: Connor McDavid, Macklin Celebrini, Mikko Rantanen, Leon Draisaitl, and Nathan MacKinnon. The Habs player is therefore the best passer among NHL defensemen.

In terms of points, only Cale Makar (44) and Zach Werenski (40) have more points than the Canadiens' 38 if we consider only defensemen.
In short, Hutson is clearly among the elite… even if 28 defensemen have more goals than #48 of the Habs.
It's clear that the second-year jinx doesn't affect the American. They got to know each other in the first three games of the season, but the jinx took over when the player signed his lucrative contract extension.
If Hutson continues like this for years to come, he'll not only be worth his weight in gold ($8.85 million a year until 2034), but he'll maximize the Habs' chances of winning.

– Well done.
The Blue Jays outfielder would rather be nursing an injury than playing in this tournament. https://t.co/R4FxghB3uA

– Yes.
Deep down, he didn't like the Canadiens-Nordiques rivalry all that much.

@KKlavelispregnant! Our great champion will be taking advantage of the IBF's special clause, which will allow her to retain her world championship title during her pregnancy. After giving birth, she will have 9 months to defend her crown https://t.co/p2fky8yovd
