The Canadiens are having a good season.

We expected the club to be good with the additions made by Kent Hughes last summer… and that's the case right now. The Habs are sitting in third place in their division and would be in the playoffs if they started tonight.

It's (another) step in the right direction for the team's rebuilding.

Part of the reason for the Habs' success is this: all the guys are playing the right way.

There hasn't been a passenger on this club since the start of the season, and that shows on the ice and makes a difference too.

Remember, that wasn't necessarily the case in recent seasons… And right now, the Canadiens have great depth. Why do I say that?

Because, in actual fact… The Habs became the first NHL club to have six scorers of 10 goals or more in 25-26. And it sure helps to win games more consistently.

It really does, in fact.

Cole Caufield (18), Juraj Slafkovsky (13), Nick Suzuki (11), Oliver Kapanen (11), Ivan Demidov (10), and Zachary Bolduc (10) are the Canadiens' top scorers so far this season.

And when you consider that we're not even halfway through the season yet, you realize that the Habs could really have several 20-goal scorers by the end of the calendar.

That would help too.

One thing we can all agree on: it's good to see that the Canadiens have several scorers in their club. It's different from the last few years – when the Habs struggled to find the back of the net – and some of the credit must go to Martin St-Louis, who lets his players run free offensively.

It's exciting for the fans, too. Because it's CLEARLY more fun to watch a club that has quality players in its lineup and can put the puck in the back of the net…

Overtime

– Reminder: there's a lot of action today in the NHL.

– Solid.
