In less than 48 hours, we'll know what Team Canada will look like at the next Olympic Games. Team officials are due to submit their roster on December 31, and a press conference will be held at noon to announce who will be on the team.
And of course, in Montreal, Nick Suzuki is being closely watched. The captain, who is a serious candidate to make the club, will soon know if he has done enough to be retained by Team Canada.
However, in the last few minutes, something interesting has surfaced: the Fanatics Canada website has put new products on sale in connection with the 2026 Olympics.
And what we've noticed is that some of these products bear the effigy of players. Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby, for example, are among them…
But they're not the only ones: Suzuki also has Team Canada products available (at the time of writing, anyway).

We note that not all players have such products in their effigy. In fact, only a handful do: Cale Makar, for example, has none.
So it's rather peculiar that Suzuki is one of them… unlike a guy whose place on the Canadiens team has already been confirmed.
Of course, it's possible that all this is pure chance and has nothing to do with the lineup to be unveiled on Wednesday. But given that Fanatics is a league partner that will want to capitalize on this, it's intriguing to see.
And speaking of Suzuki and the Olympics, the captain admitted today that all this pressure has weighed heavily on his shoulders. It's been a source of anxiety for him, as he tries to convince management that he deserves his place on the Canadiens team.
We can't wait until Wednesday, when the captain will know where he stands… and will be less stressed on the ice.

– L.J. Mooney wants to be a Conor Garland.
L.J. Mooney is much more than a talented little player.
The Swiss army knife of the United States “touches his potential.”
And he'd like to become as tanned as Conor Garland. https://t.co/Qx2Vt9xJgV

– Nice read on Aatos Koivu.
Good old Saku Koivu is in Minneapolis to cheer on his son Aatos and Finland. He took the time to talk about his memories, Aatos' development in Turku and, of course, Montreal.
