Kent Hughes and Jeff Gordon have really done something special with the rebuilding of the Canadiens.

They've built a very talented team on the ice, but more importantly, they've put together a really tight-knit group of players who seem to particularly like playing in Montreal.

And among the Habs' young players, there are two for whom things are clicking particularly well: Ivan Demidov and Lane Hutson.

As we saw recently, the two field hockey players jumped on an outdoor rink in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce on Christmas Day to skate with Habs fans.

What's more, Demidov and Hutson have been spending a lot of time together since the summer, both on and off the ice, and are roommates when the team is on the road.

When Hutson was asked about the importance of having a friend who loves hockey as much as he does, he replied that it'sthe best part of hockey.

The two kids are really into bromance. And that's a very good thing for the Canadiens.

They're two special players in a club that's already very talented, and having the chemistry develop so quickly between your two future superstars is very positive.

We also know that we won't be experiencing an Elias Pettersson and J. T. Miller situation in a few years' time.

What's more, Demidov and Hutson are passionate about hockey. They're passionate about it, and when you find someone who shares your passion, it's rare that it's going to slow you down. Let's just say they're probably talking about hockey a lot when they're chatting.

We've already seen that the two have good chemistry on the ice, but I have a feeling that it's only just begun and that we could often see this kind of play between the two players.

With Hutson set to sign with Montreal for the next eight seasons, one wonders if the friendship between the two will facilitate negotiations for Demidov's contract extension next year.

Either way, I'm not worried that Hughes will sign the young Russian long-term under market value.

Anyway, here's another little gem signed Demidov-Hutson.
