The Canadiens are back in action today. Earlier this morning, the club took off for Florida… and it's tomorrow that they'll play their next game, against the Lightning.

That said, there was plenty to keep an eye on today. After all, we were wondering which players had flown out, and which had stayed in Montreal.

According to Eric Engels, Kirby Dach did not make the trip with the team.

He is still recovering from his foot injury.

Also according to Engels, Alexandre Texier made the trip on his own, which is good news. And as we reported earlier, Samuel Montembeault is also here… and no one has been sent back to Laval.

Obviously, Dach's case is the one attracting the most attention. After all, we know he was progressing well before Christmas, to the point where the idea of seeing him play before the holiday break had been raised.

Kent Hughes had said that this scenario was not very likely, however… but he was talking about a return shortly after Christmas. And to see that he didn't even make the trip, it's worrying under the circumstances.

It's still possible, in fact, that Dach will end up rejoining the club on the road eventually. The Habs don't play again in Montreal until January 7, so it'll be a long time before we see him again if he doesn't get on a plane by then.

And with the uncertainty surrounding Jake Evans, Phillip Danault really isn't too much to ask right now.
