As we all know, things aren't going too well for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have one of the worst records in the East (16-15-5).

Just recently (Monday), the Leafs decided to stir things up by firing assistant coach Marc Savard.

He seemed like the quick and easy choice, but personally, I don't think he should pay for the Leafs' setbacks.

It's got to be more than just him, and there are rumors about head coach Craig Berube.

On his podcast, Chris Johnston mentioned that if Berube ever had to be fired, Pete DeBoer would be the Leafs' main target.

However, Johnston has no reason to believe that a change is imminent. That's only if it happens, at which point DeBoer would be the logical choice in Johnston's eyes.

Clearly, it's going to take a miracle to turn the Leafs' season around. Especially with the competitiveness of the Atlantic Division, it's hard to see the Leafs bouncing back and making the playoffs.

Toronto will have to get its act together, as Berube's job could be in jeopardy.

But would firing Craig Berube really be the answer? Personally, I think there needs to be one or more trades to really stir things up, because things are starting to stick in the pot.

Overtime

– It would have been quite a stop.

– Indeed, Faber and Hughes certainly form one of the NHL's best defensive pairs.

Phew…
