Am I the only one who finds it odd that Phillip Danault is now back with the Canadiens?
I don't mean this in a derogatory way, on the contrary, but I just couldn't believe that Danault would return to Montreal after the way he left.
Let's just say it wasn't the kind of departure that suggested a potential return.
But here we are, just over four years later, and the Habs' #24 is back in town after four seasons with the Los Angeles Kings.
Fans are happy, and Danault is even happier, as he had a nice message for the fans he loves so much.

Indeed, Danault texted Renaud Lavoie that he was looking forward to seeing the fans, and that he missed them.
The Québécois center is very happy to be back with the Canadiens, and it's clear that he'll be even more motivated to perform well.
Returning to Montreal is clearly a thrill for the 32-year-old Québécois, who will be looking to revive his season, in which he has just five points, including no goals, in 30 games this season.
In short, it will be great to see Danault back in blue, white, and red.
We're all looking forward to seeing him play, and to putting behind us the rather damaging circumstances surrounding his departure from the Habs four years ago.
His last goal with the Habs came in Game #3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021.

Overtime
– Of note.
No morning skate or pregame media availability for the #Habs ahead of the second half of the home-and-home vs. the #LetsGoPens

– The Red Wings wanted to be patient and conservative with Quinn Hughes.
Elliotte Friedman: Re Quinn Hughes: I'm now convinced Detroit played it conservatively, unwilling…without some kind of long-term commitment. That, more than parting with Simon Edvinsson, is why their pursuit never really left the driveway – Sportsnet (12/20)
