Jacob Fowler showed his talent tonight at the Bell Centre.
The goaltender stopped all 31 shots he faced to record the first shutout of his NHL career. He did it in style, to put it another way.
And the fans on hand enjoyed the show.
Fowler was voted the game's first star… and during his post-game interview, the fans went out of their way to give him lots of love.
The goaltender was applauded for several minutes, making for a truly special moment at the Bell Centre. You can see in his face that he enjoyed the whole thing during his chat with Renaud Lavoie :

You know what? It's deserved!
Fowler was solid in front of his net tonight. He made the big saves at the right times and kept the Habs in the game. That's what you want from a #1 goalie in the NHL… and that's what you want from a goalie who just turned 21.
And it's nice to see that the fans gave him some love after his performance. Again, it's well-deserved… and it must be really special for the youngster too.
Reminder: Jacob Fowler was playing in his fourth career National League game tonight. And he came away with a shutout.
It's impressive, it shows just how much potential he has… and it really gets the fans excited for the future. And I'm also happy to see that the fans are welcoming him in this way.
No pressure, kid…
Extension
Clearly, Fowler's performance can change things for the Canadiens.
Samuel Montembeault had a better outing than yesterday, but lost (again) tonight in the AHL.
What's the plan next?
