Yikes.
Let's just say that Tim Saunders, the Philadelphia Flyers radio play-by-play announcer, will remember last night for a long time to come.
Why do I say that? Because during the game between the Flyers and the Sabres, he dropped it. He dropped it solid, apart from that.
Saunders thought his mic was off during a commercial break… and he said this to his colleague, who was leaning close to him:
While you're bent over, can you give me a blowjob? – Tim Saunders
It all gets even more awkward when his colleague tells him they're still on the air. Saunders responds by saying “no, we're not”… and the microphones subsequently cut out.
Naturally, the clip was posted on social networks and is now doing the rounds. We agree: whatever the context, Saunders shouldn't have said that… even if he thought his mic was off.
And even if, in the end, it makes for a rather… weird moment?
I think we're still on the air Tim

The Flyers weren't slow to take action either.
The team suspended its commentator for two games because the comments don't reflect the organization's standards. The Flyers said in a statement that they will address the situation with those involved in the story.

Obviously, you don't see this every day in the media world.
But this isn't the first time we've seen a mistake like this either. A microphone that's been left on has happened before… and it's always a bit of a novelty.
Here again, I have the feeling that Tim Saunders will remember what happened last night for a long time to come.
And I tend to think he'll always check his microphone if he has something a bit stupid to say, as he did yesterday…
