Good news from the Canadiens.

For the first time since his injury was announced before Tuesday's game, Mike Matheson was spotted on the ice at the CN Practice Complex in Brossard.

He was wearing full gear and skating with Adam Nicholas.

Does this mean the defenseman will be in uniform tomorrow? We can't draw any conclusions based on his mere presence on the ice.

And since it's an off-day for the Habs, we certainly won't have any details today.

That said, it's good to see that the veteran is able to jump on the ice (and give it his all). After all, the guy needs to start skating with intensity again to play.

Let's not forget that he has an upper-body injury and that his absence (which has lasted two games) shouldn't be too long.

As for Kaiden Guhle, this isn't the first time we've seen him on skates since his injury. However, seeing him on the ice is also positive.

And here, unlike Wednesday, he was fully equipped. In fact, our colleague Patrick Guillet reports that he looked great on the ice.

Kirby Dach, who recently started skating again and is expected to return after Christmas, was also on the ice with the other injured skaters.

He didn't stay long, however.
