Let's talk about junior hockey for a moment.

In a recent Team Canada Junior practice for the World Junior Championship, Michael Hage was seen as the center of the first line.

For Habs fans, this was great news.

But we suspected it wouldn't last, given that Michael Misa (who was nursing a minor injury in San Jose, in the National Hockey League) was on his way out.

And now it's done. The Habs prospect is on the second line, center, at his team's practice today. Nothing to cry about, honestly.

However, for Québécois (fans of the Montreal Canadiens) who will be following the tournament, this may well be the only moment to rejoice, for the time being.

And why is that? Because Caleb Desnoyers is an extra. With the cuts and Misa's return, it's the Québécois who've got the short end of the stick.

If the lineup doesn't change, that means Quebec won't be represented on the ice, considering there are no others in the lineup. That's the way things are going at the Olympics, too.

Not only will there potentially be no Québécois on the ice at the WJC, but the Canadiens' goals will be celebrated with a very… Rest of Canada song .

The Tragically Hip's Courage will be the theme song.

I have absolutely nothing against this great Canadiens band, let it be said. But it's still a band that isn't popular in Quebec, and isn't popular elsewhere in the country.

I know the band has fans here, but it's not as strong as in the rest of Canada.

I don't think the song was chosen to piss off Quebec. But both on the ice and in the celebrations, it's going to be hard for Québécois to identify with the team. Especially if the club doesn't score much after “forgetting” to invite Justin Carbonneau to camp…

– Of note.

– Oh, really?
