Marc Methot loses his job: is it because of racist remarks?

Marc Methot's last NHL game was on November 11, 2018. After hanging up his skates, the former Blue Jackets, Sens and Stars defenseman became an analyst for TSN, covering Senators games and NHL news. But now he won't be back for next season.

This news came out on October 3… just a few weeks after Methot was seen making a racist comment on X.

The defender commented on a post in whichPalestinian protesterstook control of the Capital Pride parade in Ottawa on August 24… and said:

I can only imagine what it smells like out there.

Marc Methot

The comment in question was never deleted on X, by the way.

So Marc Methot has lost his job, and you have to wonder if it's because of his outburst on X. We know this kind of comment has no place… and for TSN, which is a big media network, maybe we didn't like the image it gave the station either.

For his part, Methot maintains that he enjoyed his TV experience and will now focus on his guy's team (he's the coach of his club) and his family's farm. He mentioned, under the X post found at the beginning of the article, that it was time to move on.

Marc Methot is a guy who never really had his tongue in his pocket. He was known for it in the NHL… and he's also very active on social networks. But here, he crossed the line because he went too far. His comment was unnecessary… and he should have thought twice before posting something like that.

'Overtime'

– The Leafs still want to add a forward.

– Yes!!!

– Retirement for Cam Atkinson.

– The result is comical.
