Just about everyone knows that Carey Price will not be returning to the NHL. It seemed like a no-brainer, but I guess not everyone knew. We also know in Montreal that Tyler Toffoli likes a good laugh, and he doesn't miss a chance to (amicably) poke fun at his teammates. The San Jose Sharks have a very young team, and some of these young players seem to be a little too naive.

According to San Jose Sharks defenseman Vincent Desharnais, Toffoli led some of the Sharks' young players to believe that Price would be back in the game. And a few of them took the bait, like hungry trout.

Really? I honestly thought it was general knowledge.content-ads]Anyway, the giant Desharnais thought it was pretty funny when asked if he'd “heard the news”. When one of the youngsters asked him that, he played along, trying hard not to laugh in front of him as he affirmed what he was saying. When Toffoli noticed that some people believed him, he decided to add even more by saying that his wife had spoken to Price's wife.

Before throwing the line in the water, Toffoli made sure to go and see the club's two goalkeepers to tell them that it wasn't true and that they had nothing to fear. During the interview, Pascal Leclaire, who was at Maxim Lapierre's side for this episode, said that the players were more likely to go fishing with Price than to practice with him. A little laughter is always pleasant and lifts the mood. Especially in a club that's in the midst of rebuilding, the players, especially the younger ones, should at least have fun playing. It's a great confidence booster and keeps the mind healthy.
