We suspected that the plan was for Oliver Kapanen to join the Rocket after the Canadiens were eliminated. But at the same time, there was a scenario where he went to the World Championship.
But now a decision has been made.
According to Nicolas Cloutier, who spoke with the player's agent, it's done: the CH and the player's clan have decided that the European will finish the season with the Laval Rocket.
Kapanen will report to the Rocket, his agent tells me @TVASports
“I think it will be great for his development and will allow him to better compete for a spot with the big club next year.”

In my eyes, it's a good decision. After all, having spent the majority of the season in Europe, he'll be able to continue playing in the North American system of the Habs organization.
So, in my opinion, he'll learn even more.
Remember that he started and finished the season in Montreal, without breaking anything. And as he couldn't play in Laval during the season, he went to Sweden, where he did well.
Right now, he's running out of miles before he can play in the NHL full-time. That's why seeing him play in the playoffs in Laval is a good thing in my eyes.
Note that only three CH players are eligible to finish the year down low: Kapanen and the two goalies who finished the season healthy, Jakub Dobes and Cayden Primeau.
For the time being, Jacob Fowler is expected to start in goal tonight. However, nothing has been confirmed.
No news today from the Habs regarding goaltenders Cayden Primeau and Jakub Dobes, both eligible to return to Laval in the playoffs.
All signs point to a second start for Jacob Fowler tomorrow in Cleveland. Do you know what? This is a very..

My feeling? We'll rest Cayden Primeau so we don't send him to Cleveland unnecessarily. And when the Rocket return to Laval, he'll be dressed and can take Luke Cavallin's place.
What about Dobes? What will his role be?

– Interesting.
What a great season for Frédéric Allard in Sweden. He just won the SHL championship in addition to being named playoff MVP. This could open doors for him to return to North America after two years in Europe. https://t.co/KWcDBRLrzm
