Sad news in the world of hockey.
Brendan Gallagher announced, during the night, that his mother had passed away. He took to publishing a message with many photos of his mother to pay tribute to her.
Our thoughts are with his family and with him: we offer our sympathies.
There is about a year to the day, we learned that his mother was fighting brain cancer, which is a big illness. And unfortunately, she did not survive.
This is really sad. Losing his mother at his age cannot be easy.
Of course, Gallagher must be really saddened by the news and must be experiencing strong emotions these days. After all, in recent days, he also became a father.
Experiencing that at the same time as mourning his mother must be really something.
The little warrior of the Habs, who has always played the right way on the ice, will probably ask for advice from Martin St-Louis. He too lost his mother during a season, when he was in his first months with the New York Rangers.
He could help him get through such a moment by sharing his experience.
Note that yesterday, Gally was not at the optional practice of the Habs in Brossard. Is he with the club on the road? Will Michael Pezzetta play tonight? Will a guy from Laval arrive as reinforcement? We will see.
