Top-5 : The Oilers help the CH and beat the Rangers in regulation time

Last night in the NHL, seven games were on the agenda.

With 14 teams playing, the action was plentiful.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. Thanks to the Oilers

In the standings, the CH is one small point behind the Rangers and the last rank giving access to the series.

Yesterday, New York could have increased the lead, but the club lost in regulation to the Oilers. Thanks to Edmonton!

The Blue Shirts still have one point more than Montreal, but with two more games played.

As for the meeting, Connor McDavid scored the insurance goal at the end of the third period. His 25th goal of the season.

A little earlier, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins got his 25th assist on the winning goal of his teammate Viktor Arvidsson.

What a shot!

Leon Draisaitl, for his part, participated in the first goal of his own.

He thus extended his sequence of games with at least one point to 18.

MVP!

The visiting team won 3-1.

2. Mikko Rantanen back in Colorado

In Colorado, the Stars were visiting and it was Mikko Rantanen’s first game there since he was traded.

He obviously received a nice ovation.

And he felt his return with an assist on the first goal of the game.

It was Jason Robertson who broke the ice.

But the Avalanche immediately countered through the one who was traded for Rantanen initially, Martin Necas.

This game went into overtime.

Cale Makar sealed the deal with a superb goal.

It’s thanks to two goals in 20 seconds that the game went into overtime.

At the start of the meeting, Nathan MacKinnon received his golden stick in honor of the 1000th point he recently scored.

Gabriel Landeskog, the captain, gave him the honor.

3. No thanks to the Golden Knights

If we can say thank you to the Oilers, we can’t say thank you to the Golden Knights.

The day before yesterday, they lost to the Sabres in a shootout and yesterday, they admitted defeat against the Red Wings.

With this 3-0 win, Detroit moved within one point of the CH, therefore.

Albert Johansson scored a great goal to give the Wings the lead.

And on the third and final goal of the Michigan formation, Patrick Kane joined a select group of American players by getting an assist.

4. The Sharks are officially eliminated

Last night, the Sharks were not playing, but they were still eliminated.

It was only a matter of time, but it’s official as of yesterday.

With a 7-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks, the Blues crushed all of San Jose’s chances of qualifying for the spring tournament.

Saint-Louis would have had to lose all their last games and San Jose would have had to win all their last games – without counting the other teams in the race. It was only a matter of time before Ryan Warsofsky’s squad was eliminated.

As for the Blues, they are tied with the Canucks and the last rank giving access to the series (73 points). Vancouver lost yesterday to Utah, 3-1.

5. Two defeats in 24h for the Panthers

It’s going bad for the Panthers. In their last four games, they only have one win and they lost their two games over the weekend.

Saturday against the Canadiens and yesterday against the Islanders by a score of 4-2.

Florida was leading 2-0 in the third period, but Patrick Roy’s squad scored four goals without reply.

Noah Dobson led the charge for the Islanders with this great goal, 17 seconds after the equalizing goal.

Then, at the end of the game, Ilya Sorokin preserved his team’s lead in a nice way.


Overtime

– An entire sequence, in fact.

– A phantom infraction.

– A 26th career shutout for Petr Mrazek.
