New York Rangers owner charged with sexual assault
Big news in the NHL and sports world.

According toamNewYork, James Dolan, owner of the New York Rangers and Knicks, has been accused of sexually assaulting a masseuse. There’s also a trafficking complaint.

Kellye Croft (the masseuse) claims that Dolan pressured her into having “unwanted sex” and arranging a meeting with producer Harvey Weinstein.

The masseuse thus accuses Dolan and Weinstein of sexual assault and forcible touching…

And because Dolan facilitated the transportation of Kellye Croft to California “for forcible sexual purposes”, the Rangers owner has also been charged with sex trafficking.

Note that the events allegedly took place in 2013.

I have suffered so much because of what James Dolan and Harvey Weinstein did to me years ago, and it was not an easy decision to come forward and seek justice […] James Dolan manipulated me, brought me to California to abuse me, and then set me up for a violent attack by Weinstein. – Kellye Croft

Kellye Croft also alleges that the Rangers owner was well aware of Harvey Weinstein’s history of sexual assault and abuse. Weinstein is currently serving a 39-year prison sentence after being convicted of rape and sexual assault in recent years.

For the moment, representatives of Madison Square Garden, home of the Rangers and Knicks, have declined to comment on the case.

It will be interesting to see what happens next in this story. I’m especially curious to see whether the NHL will get involved…

But all in all, it’s another piece of bad news for the league’s image, which has had to deal with the Blackhawks’ situation in recent years.

Sad.
