Two third-period goals from Filip Mesar propel Rangers to victory

Midway through the third period of the Kitchener Rangers-Ottawa 67’s game, the score was tied 2-2.

But that was until Filip Mesar took matters into his own hands.

First, he scored a beautiful goal, his 14th of the season.

Then, with his second of the match, he put his opponents’ last nail in an empty net.

A Mesar victory!

Kitchener is still in first place in the OHL with 60 points. Their closest pursuers are the Soo Greyhounds, who have 55 points.

This season, Mesar has collected 15 goals and 20 assists in 22 games. That’s a nice average of almost 1.6 points per game.

It’s a welcome change from last year’s below-par season. Remember that he scored 51 points in 52 games, at which point many fans and analysts gave up on him.

This season, he proved to everyone that he is indeed a first-round NHL pick. Now, will he be able to dominate in a professional league?
