Red Wings arrive in Toronto 90 minutes before game time

For our readers currently in the south, you’re in luck. The heavy snowfalls in Quebec, but also across North America, have caused problems for many shovelers and sports teams.

In the NFL, the Bills and Steelers were scheduled to play this afternoon, but because of the snow, the game has been postponed until tomorrow. This has caused a schedule change for the Pittsburgh Penguins. They don’t want the regular-season game to be at the same time as their fellow Pittsburghers’ playoff game.

And today, bad weather posed a problem for the Detroit Red Wings players. They arrived in Toronto 90 minutes before the start of the game (19:30).

Leafs equipment managers even helped Wings equipment managers set up a locker room.

Great hospitality!

By 2:30 p.m. Eastern time, the Detroit team hadn’t even left Michigan yet. Good thing the flight between the two cities isn’t long…

The game was originally scheduled to be played at 7pm, but of course it was too close to call.

Now the players have arrived at their destination and are ready to play.

Still, I’m surprised the game wasn’t postponed until later tonight or even tomorrow.

In brief

– Good to know.

– Chaz Lucius in return for Sean Monahan?

– Listen now.

– Well done.

– The Devils prevented Paul Maurice from taking part yesterday.
