Last night, only six teams were in action.
Here are the results and highlights:
1. Joel Edmundson's first goal in Washington
Joel Edmundson was acquired by the Capitals for his defensive play.
But yesterday, he unleashed his powerful shot to score the Caps' second goal. It was also his first goal in his new uniform.

In 15 games with the national captain, the veteran has one goal and one assist.
In this very close match, overtime was necessary. It was Dylan Strome who sealed the outcome.

Gatineau's Hendrik Lapierre, back in the lineup after an absence of nearly two weeks, also scored a goal.

Caps win 3-2.
2. Gabriel Vilardi: 10 points in his last four games
During the Habs' last game, we realized just how much the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade has clearly benefited the Canadian team.
Gabriel Vilardi is one of the main reasons.
Last night, he had another good game, collecting three points. In his last four games, the right-hander has no fewer than 10 points.
Dubois has 12 points all season…

The youngster even increased his streak of games with at least one goal to four.
With a 5-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings, Winnipeg is now in first place in the Central Division.
The Wings, meanwhile, have lost their last four games.
At least Patrick Kane is doing well…
Make that 5 pts in his last 5 games.

3. 42-save performance for Joey Daccord
In the absence of Philip Grubauer, a Kraken goaltender has to step up.
Last night, Joey Daccord did just that. He allowed just one goal to the Kings with a 42-save performance.
Joey Daccord put the @SeattleKraken on his back and delivered a 42-save performance – matching his own club benchmark for most in a single game.#NHLStats: https://t.co/ktw36LhOxb pic.twitter.com/qt8Fu8Z7C9

The goalie set the tone for the game with this save at Matt Roy's expense.

Thanks to Daccord's brilliance and Jordan Eberle's winning goal, Seattle got their revenge on the Kings.
2-1 victory.
Absolutely worth another look.
