Unable to put weight on his leg, Alex Newhook leaves the match

The Canadiens and Panthers aren’t necessarily playing the most exciting game of the year.

After all, this is Florida’s third game in four nights, and Montreal was in Columbus the night before.

At the start of the third period, Alex Newhook tried to create a spark, but was injured.

Helped by Mike Matheson, Brendan Gallagher and therapists, 15 retreated to the locker room and was unable to put any weight on his leg.

No word yet on whether his game is over, but it doesn’t bode well.

Details to follow…

Extension

With Kirby Dach injured for the season, we don’t want Newhook to end up on the LTIR either. After all, he’s one of Kent Hughes’ projects and acquisitions.

In 23 games this season, including this one, he has 13 points.
