It’s the worst-kept secret on earth: the Oilers haven’t won since the start of the season because their goalies can’t get the job done.
There’s a question that comes up a lot when we talk about the Edmonton club.
“How many first-round picks in total will they need in order to get to the next level?”
Lack posted a screenshot on Twitter (X), showing the Canucks sitting atop the NHL’s overall standings.
A fan responded by saying that the former goaltender is in no position to speak because he hasn’t played many games in the Bettman circuit…
And Lack replied that he’d have what it takes to play for the Oilers, because Edmonton fans are used to below-average goaltenders.
“I’d fit right in,” he joked:
Haha
I should’ve played for the Oilers. You’re so used to below average goaltending I would’ve fit right in. https://t.co/QVPGt2YCD3

Tell me about a way to humiliate someone… While making a fool of yourself.
At least Eddie Lack is able to laugh about it. I don’t know if the Oilers fan found it funny, but oh well.
Lack’s career was short: he only played 143 games in the NHL, but his stats aren’t terrible.
That’s far from bad… And ironically, compared to the Oilers’ goaltending numbers so far this season, it’s almost like night and day.
Anyways. All that to say, the Oilers are getting laughed at because of the situation up front, and that’s pretty funny thanks.
