David Reinbacher looked crazy this afternoon during a sequence

Due to injury, David Reinbacher missed seven of his team’s games in Switzerland. Although this was not ideal for his progress, he nevertheless avoided any major complications, including a fracture.

Since his return to action, he has not been very dominant. And today, in his fourth game since his return, he looked a little crazy on one sequence.

He lost his balance in his own territory (while his goalkeeper was on the bench) while trying to feint. The result: the opposition scored and EHC Kloten escaped the match 5-2.

Kloten hasn’t won since November 3. He’s played three games since then.

Today, Reinbacher finished the game with a minus-1 record, in 19:28 of playing time. For those interested, Nathan Beaulieu, the team’s new acquisition, didn’t collect a point, but he did finish the game with four shots on goal.

But when it comes to the Canadiens’ current protégé, things aren’t going well. As Marc Dumont points out, he seems indecisive on the ice, and has been ever since his return to the lineup. The sequence at the end of this afternoon’s game is proof of that: he tried to do too much, and his many P.K. Subban-style feints didn’t help.

Is he still bothered by his injury? Perhaps.

Since his return to the line-up, he has yet to collect a point. In six games played this season, he has scored once and collected one assist.

Reinbacher and his team-mates won’t be back in action until six days from now, when they visit Freiburg. The focus will be on the head coach to see if he can find solutions for his team, who have suffered four defeats in their last five games and currently find themselves in second-to-last place in the league. A far from ideal situation.
