Nothing goes right for the Laval Rocket
Before the AHL season got underway, expectations were high for the Laval Rocket.

And now, after seven games played… it’s already safe to say that nothing is going right for Jean-François Houle’s men.

The Rocket was crushed by the Syracuse Crunch last night in a game that ended 5-0.

It was a third straight regular-time loss for the Canadiens’ training club, which now has a record of one win, five losses and another setback in overtime.

Ouch.

The Rocket were never in the game and were outshot 28-19.

And yet, we know just how talented the Tricolore’s school team is…

What’s not working right now? The question was put to Tobie Bisson and Philippe Maillet after the game… And let’s just say that the two veterans didn’t hold back when commenting on the situation.

The guys have to find a way to work together to win games :

The season is still young, but the Rocket is dropping important points in the AHL standings.

We know how tight the playoff race ALWAYS is in the AHL… And every point collected is important, even early in the season.

Jean-François Houle must make sure his club wakes up before it’s too late.

On this subject, the club’s head coach confided after the match that there would be some changes this week. The players should expect particularly tough training sessions, as the club is not in good shape at the moment.

Sometimes that’s what it takes to get a message across.

The good news is that the Rocket is back home and will play its next three games at Place Bell. This is a great opportunity for the team to redeem their poor start to the season, and they need to take advantage of the fans’ energy to win this week.

The elements are there to make it happen… Now all that remains is to see how the players respond in their next duel, which takes place on Wednesday night against the Utica Comets.
