Two deaths in the world of sport: Angela Price’s father and Rick Jeanneret
Late last night, two pieces of bad news were announced in the sports world. Two people, directly or indirectly linked to field hockey, caused a stir on social networks due to their deaths.

We’re talking about Angela Price’s father and Rick Jeanneret. Our thoughts are with the families.

The former is not well known to the general public, but we’re still talking about Carey Price’s father-in-law and the father of a well-known figure in the Montreal Canadiens entourage.

It was she who posted the news on Instagram.

We don’t know what happened since it wasn’t mentioned, but that’s not what’s important here. What is important is that the Price family is grieving.

Angela, Carey and the children had returned to the West Indies to be closer to the couple’s parents. And now, just a few weeks after their return to their part of the world, the Price family is facing a major life challenge.

And in the Buffalo Sabres family, another big hole has opened up.

Rick Jeanneret, recognized as one of the greatest descriptors in history, has also lost his life. He was 81 and known as “the voice of the Buffalo Sabres” over there.

And according to GM Kevyn Adams, he’s even the voice of the city. And he’s not wrong.

One of the reasons for his popularity is that he was very colorful when he spoke. He had several legendary phrases, including the famous “may day”. It’s a phrase that will continue to live on through the ages.

Although he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012, he continued to work until 2022. He won’t have had much time to enjoy retirement, unfortunately.

So it’s a sad Friday morning in the sports world.
