Alex Newhook makes his LSHL debut tonight
All Canadiens fans are looking forward to seeing Alex Newhook play his first game in a Tricolore uniform.

That’s normal, especially since we don’t know much about him in Montreal because he played out West. We’re all waiting to see what he can bring to the Canadiens’ lineup, as he describes himself as a versatile player with great speed on skates.

That being said…

Those who really want to see him in action can do so tonight (6:30 p.m.) at the Hockey Etcetera arena, near the airport. Newhook, who is currently in town, will indeed be making his LSHL debut with Nicolas Beaudin’s team.

He’s the only member of his club who isn’t from Quebec, by the way. He will play with the “MTL Balance Board” team, which includes the two Joseph brothers, Hendrix Lapierre, Samuel Poulin, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Devon Levi and, of course, Nicolas Beaudin:

The newcomer is familiarizing himself with the city, and that’s a good thing. He’ll also have a chance to play with Beaudin, who’s part of the Montreal Canadiens organization.

I wonder if Newhook is in Montreal to stay until the end of the summer. He recently admitted that he still has a few things left in Colorado, which makes sense…

And if he’s staying in town, one also wonders if he’ll be playing any more LSHL games.

All in all, this will be his first visit to the crowds here, and I’m sure the fans at the Hockey Etcetera arena tonight will give him a warm welcome.

At least, I hope they will.

Kaiden Guhle, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Nick Suzuki (among others) also play in the 3-on-3 summer league…. And it would be special for Newhook to face them if he is able to play further games in the LSHL.

In brief

– My goodness.

– Can he do it?

– At the very least.
