Sean Avery believes he could break into the Leafs’ lineup next season
When he played in the NHL, Sean Avery was known as a pretty special character. And do you know what?

It’s the same thing we hear when we talk about him today.

The former Red Wings, Kings, Rangers and Stars, let’s not forget, attempted a return to the world of professional field hockey last year and even signed a pact with the Orlando Solar Bears, an ECHL team.

Unfortunately for him, the Solar Bears released him two days after signing him to a contract, and we never really got a chance to see if he could make it on the ice.

Right now, Avery is living his best life and doing ju-jitsu. He claims to be in better shape than ever…

And that leads him to believe that if he’d had a little more time to prepare for the Toronto Leafs’ upcoming training camp, he’d have been able to break into the lineup for next season.

Yes, we’re talking about the same guy who hasn’t played a game in the NHL since the 2011-2012 season. And, I know I stated it up front….

But we’re also talking about the guy who was released by an ECHL team two days after signing a contract with the team in question, no later than 2022.

How ironic is that?

I admire the confidence… But it’s pretty far-fetched.

The former NHL pugilist also took the opportunity to throw an arrow at Ryan Reaves, saying he’d be more than capable of playing a better role than Reaves in Toronto… And that, too, is far-fetched.

But hey. Sean Avery is Sean Avery.

Love him or hate him, the fact remains the same. He has a gift of some kind that allows him to be entertaining, no matter what he’s doing.
