The probable addition of Vladimir Tarasenko will make the Hurricanes formidable
Auteur: Manuel Sperandio-LemayBut it looks like the Russian is headed for Carolina. That’s what The Athletic is reporting.
We don’t yet know the terms or the amount, but since last night, that’s the rumor going around the NHL. It could be in the short to medium term, for those interested.
It’s a great deal for Carolina – assuming it comes to fruition, of course.
Right now, the Hurricanes have a pretty full roster and $4.45 million in cash. Attracting the Russian to town would be on the team’s terms, as they can’t magically create space.
All this to say that the Hurricanes aren’t fooling around with the puck. When you consider that the club has also added Dmitri Orlov and Michael Bunting to its roster, it’s clear that the club will be “hard to play against” in terms of talent.
This will be even truer if Erik Karlsson comes to town…
According to Pierre LeBrun, the next few hours will be decisive → https://t.co/dfpUME757O

The Canes have most of their draft picks right now, and aside from Jesperi Kotkaniemi’s contract, I don’t see any long-term financial drag. They’re going to be good for a long time.

– What a great player.
Clearly, Lane Hutson is “a notch up” on the rest of the group.
He dominates in this early intra-squad match in Brossard. @DLCoulisses

– How do you turn down an invitation like that? Ok…
Flyers GM Danny Briere on Cutter Gauthier declining invite to development camp: “Cutter was invited, declined to come. We’re assuming that is because he’s played a lot of field hockey with the World Championship, lots of travel. We’re not too worried about that.”

– He’d better play well before he talks, him.
